N° College & Career Mentorship Program
Our mission is to Move Visalia forward, one student at a time.
Our Goal: Help students get to and through a college/career degree program so that they can reach their full potential.
What we do: Partner students with an individual mentor and a team of volunteers to help them discover their career goals, apply for degree programs and financial aid, and mentor them through their chosen degree program until they graduate.
The N° Project will provide every student with the 4 C’s:
Community of Supportive People
Every student will be paired with an individual mentor and a team of volunteers to get them to and through a college/career degree program.
College and Career Prep
Mentoring sessions will help students research college and career options, provide application support, and find summer internship opportunities.
Coaching
Training in life skills (healthy relationships, financial planning, professional etiquette, etc.)
Cash
Help in applying for financial aid, outside scholarships and scholarships from The N° Project.
Houston Partnership
We adopted Houston School in 2006 as a way to be FOR our city and make an impact. We decided we didn't want to just do random acts of kindness, we wanted to intentionally build relationships and friendships and make a real impact on our city. Anyone can be nice to someone for an hour but in order to really love someone, you have to be in their life consistently and that's what we've tried to do at Houston School.
